The Elric Brothers were divided between two different worlds and they sought a way to reunite with each other. Ed was sent to Munich, 1923, where a war was about to begin. As he had lost his alchemic powers, he attempted to return to his home country with the help of Alphonse Heidreich using emergent technology. However, their attempts were unsuccessful and he was getting impatient.
